🐯 The good news keeps coming at May ISD! 🐯 We are thrilled to congratulate elementary teacher Heather Barrera for being recognized in the Brownwood News Teacher Features! 🧮✨ Heather is an 8-year teaching veteran who has spent 7 of those years right here at May ISD, inspiring our 3rd and 4th graders to understand and love math. She went to high school right here in the area before graduating from Tarleton State University and coming back home to teach. It is the absolute ultimate compliment to our district that so many of our educators are alumni of May or nearby schools. They grew up in these communities, and now they choose to pour their hearts back into the next generation of Tigers. In a small school, our students aren't just names on a roster—they are family. Teachers like Mrs. Barrera are the perfect example of why May ISD is such an incredible place to learn, grow, and belong! Welcome to the team, Mr. Ryan Crafton! 🌟 We are excited to have Mr. Crafton joining our district, and he’s already hitting the ground running this summer! He spent a fantastic week in Fort Worth accompanying our incredible students at the Texas FFA Convention. From leadership workshops to inspiring speakers, it was an unforgettable week of growth. Here is what Mr. Crafton had to say about his first big trip with our students: "Fun week in Fort Worth at the 98th FFA Convention with this group! From attending workshops and getting to hear some great speakers to getting to know each other. It was a productive week! We did have some down time to discuss and set some expectations moving forward for the upcoming school year.
